I had car trouble, in the middle of the night. My car simply stopped, in the middle lane of the Belt Parkway. Miracuously, I managed to start the car and made it to the next exit, somewhere in Queens. What should I do? Well, you know the answer. I called Eddie, from a pay phone.
Eddie arrived shortly, looked under the hood, declared that a hose had a hole in it, walked to a gas station, bought a new hose and replacement fluid of some kind, replaced the hose, refilled the fluid, and closed the hood. Then he said, "Um, you're back tire is blown."
So, of course, Eddie changed the tire. About an hour after I had called him, I hugged him, said "Thank you," and continued home. Eddie went back to where he had come from, just another typical night for him. Eddie could do just about anything; and, he would do it for just about anybody. Eddie was an original. Karen Donnelly
